Surprised.... better than ceramics ? Great service
Friday, 26 July 2019  |

I replaced hybrid ceramic bearings in my bike wheels based on the info from Wych. Despite meticulous maintence and being an engineer, I had overlooked what happens when hard ceramic balls are used in normal steel races when impact is involved. Put simply, the shock of approx 3 years of rough potholes, racing, big alpine descents and more...had made my rear wheel bearings loose. I was advised that the “best” bearings for me were in fact standard bearings ABEC 5. I fitted and shocked that not only was the friction lower (spin down test) but all the issues solved. The advice wad brilliant. Next step... front wheels.
