71903-LLB ABEC5 Enduro Angular Contact Bike Bearing 17x30x7

Angular Contact (A/C) cartridge bearings are specifically designed for hubs. In standard radial bearings, only 3 or 4 balls make contact during the load, at any given time. In Angular Contact (A/C) bearings, ALL balls are engaged and spread the force over a larger surface area, to decrease friction, and minimize wear. Wheel play can be adjusted out of the hub, to giving a more stable wheel, making it easier to adjust disc brakes, while still spinning freely.

When fitting these angular contact bearings ensure the load is applied to the inner ring on the red seal side of the bearing.

Enduro ABEC-5 Specification:

Grade 5 Chromium Steel Balls
High precision balls are within 5/1,000,000″ round. R-64 hardness, of the highest grade.

52100 High Carbon Chromium Alloy Races
Vacuum de-gassed process for the purest chromium alloy steel, hardened to R-62, extremely tough and very durable. Polished to a mirror finish for ABEC-5 precision and noiseless movement.

Graphite/Nylon Ball Retainers
Nylon with graphite retainers are virtually frictionless while providing constant lubrication.

The ABEC-5 Standard
To meet the ABEC-5 standard, bearing design must pass all tests, which include noise testing at high RPM, extremely close tolerances for I.D. and O.D., roundness of ball, trueness of the races and micro surface finishes of balls and races.

Campagnolo rear hub free play cured
12 July 2023  |

Having been plagued with a small amount of rear hub free play on Campagnolo Vento wheels that use 17x30x7 deep groove ball bearings, I'm really pleased to find that using the 71903 angular contact bearings has solved the free play issues. Strongly recommend these bearings for Campagnolo rear hubs (Scirrocco, Vento, Khamsin) that have the Aluminium 17mm axle.

Fulcrum 5 Replacemant Bearings
04 May 2021  |

Bought these bearings to replace the front and rear hub bearings on a pair of Fulcrum Racing 5 wheels bought in 2018. Far better quality than the original bearings, easy to fit (Important: follow the fitting instructions for this type of bearing). Wheels are now running very smooth and stable. Note: did not replace the free-hub bearings, free hub bearings may have a different outside diameter. Great communication and delivery from Wych Bearings.

Enduro angular contact bearings
12 October 2020  |

Quick delivery and good price. The product is specified for certain bicycle hubs and is excellent in the right application.
Wych were short of a few bearings in our multiple order but called to check that we were OK that the delivery would be made in two parts.

Angular contact bottom bracket bearings
11 August 2020  |

Bottom bracket bearings are subjected to considerable angular stress, which is why cup and cone bearings have been used previously. This is why, instead of deep groove ball bearings, using angular contact sealed bearings on OMAS and Royce titanium axle bottom brackets provides a dramatic improvement in bearing life.

Super smooth
28 February 2019  |

After finding my rear wheel was constantly loosening, I've replace the cheap Chinese radial bearings with these quality angular contact bearings, as the hub has no centre tube to support the inner races, now I've got a super smooth, fast rolling bike (also fitted new Endure bearings to front hub). Great service from Wych as well, quick delivery.

Great service
15 June 2018  |

Replacement bearings for year old giant SLR wheel (worrying). Can't comment on bearing other than they spin smoothly and fit perfectly, but then most do when they're new. Time will tell how long for...
However service from Wych was spot on. Order placed online for basic replacement bearings in the evening. Emailed in the morning to ask if I could change order to these higher spec bearings. Swap done. Refund made and new bearings turn up in the post the following morning. Perfect. Thanks
